Described as “the Grey Cup of Craft Fairs,” Circle Craft Christmas Market is back for it’s 40th year at the Vancouver Convention Centre this weekend. Bringing artists from all over Canada with the premise that everything is hand-made, Circle Craft has made it’s name for the top place to find high end, unique gifts for the holiday season. Author Miranda Post picks her top 10 Vancouver based artists you should definitely check out at the show for Inside Vancouver. Our favourite off the list? Muffle-Up Slippers. We picked up a pair of these cozy, funky-coloured slippers last winter and absolutely LOVE them!
Circle Craft Christmas Market runs November 7 – 11 at the New Convention Centre in Vancouver. Tickets are $12 at the door or you can save $2 HERE.
Thursday 10am – 9pm

We met with Kelsey Klassen of the Westender to show her our line of tie-dye leggings, seamless panties and scarves. Designer, Lexi Soukoreff, talks to her about tie-dye, technique and local production.

There’s no doubt about it: Punk is IN this season. Our black & cream Adriana Leggings are the perfect fit for this trend. Pair these pants with some black studded boots and an oversized black sweater this fall for comfy luxe style.
IDS West is known as a haven for all beautiful things for the home. What most people don’t realize is that they have a fabulous cash & carry area called “The District” which features 20 or so local designers. This means that while you are dreaming about that amazing Montauk Sofa for your living room (we do…every show without fail!), you can wander over to pick up some new pillows from Phaulet, a stunning bracelet from Toodlebunny and of course, a pair of our Adriana Leggings.
**Please note that The District has replaced the December One of a Kind Show in Vancouver. OOAK no longer takes place here.
Portobello West will be hosting their 3rd quarterly market of the year at Creekside Community Centre this Saturday and Sunday, September 7 + 8, from 11am-5pm. There will be a silent auction with items donated from the vendors. All proceeds will go towards the Canadian Charity, Dress for Success. Daub + Design will be donating one of their coveted Brenna Scarves to the gift baskets.
A little about Dress for Success: DFS is a registered Canadian Charity that helps low and no income women to transition into the workforce by providing professional attire. Each Dress for Success client receives a suit for her interviews and a small working wardrobe when she gets her job. The suits we give symbolize our faith in every woman’s ability to succeed.
The Dress for Success Vancouver Professional Women’s Group program then provides ongoing support to help our clients build a successful career.Former clients who have successfully returned to the workforce become members who meet monthly for a networking and education program. Monthly meetings focus on subjects such as the written and unwritten rules of the workplace, personal finance, communication, personal health and much more.

We were super excited to see one of our favourite Vancouver jewellery designers & artist, Sarah Mulder, featured in the Toronto Sun this morning as one of their Celebrity Spaces. We’ve worked a number of times with both Sarah and her jewellery on photo shoots for our own line. We love her eye and her stylish blend of classic and fashion forward pieces.
Sarah’s beautiful home, including her studio, is decorated in a contemporary fashion which allows her artwork to shine through. Our personal favourites are her sewn painting series which often features painted cityscapes with free-motion machine embroidery for textured details.
The shirt that Sarah’s wearing is a custom piece that Daub + Design created specifically for her. Working with clients to over-dye existing garments to rework them into new favourites is something we always enjoy. It’s always fun getting to work directly with a client to come up with a colour scheme that compliments their style & colouring. It allows us to play with the dyes on new fabrics in an organic manner as opposed to a production based platform. Below is a before and after shot the the top Sarah’s wearing above.
FALL/WINTER 2013: We’re introducing rich, dark tones for our Adriana Leggings for Fall, a fresh colour palette for our Brenna Scarves and Seamless Panties and NEW luscious silk crepe de chine Ania Scarves! We recently shot our new look book with the talented, Christina Lazar-Schuler,at her Filmwerx Studio in New Westminster. These photos are a sneak peek of what’s comingmid-September. We will be debuting the new items at The District at IDS West at the Vancouver Convention Centre, September 19-22.
